Founder of Humans and Horses
Laura is an equine-guided life coach, a guide into the world of horses, and an advocate for ethical and equal treatment of horses as partners in learning.
Laura invites the eight equines of her Herd of Joy to help people connect to their creativity and intuition to live the lives they were meant to live.
Living with her herd in the Russian wilderness, she believes horses can be a bridge between humans and nature, helping people to honor and preserve nature and their own intuition.
Laura is pioneering work in Russia on horses as teachers and healers, working with children and adults to build emotional intelligence, create awareness and inner sanctuary, and listen to their intuition.
She is also collaborating with Russia’s largest foundation to help kids who have overcome cancer get back on track through working with horses.
For EFL professionals, Laura runs horse-inspired retreats to gather tribes of humans and free-roaming horses in spectacular natural settings around the world to renew, restore, and be inspired by like minds.
Laura has been around horses since she was a child growing up in Colorado. She started training young horses after moving to Russia in her 20s to work for the World Wildlife Fund, where she met her Russian husband, Igor. When Laura was 28, Igor gave her a wild black stallion named Eaglet. The rest is history: there was no way she was leaving that! Eaglet is now the wise sentinel of the Herd of Joy. Like Eaglet, Laura is at times nurturer, sentinel, leader, and companion to her herd.
In 2016, Laura received equine-assisted learning certification with the Equine Psychotherapy Institute (Australia). Laura is also certified by the European Association for Horse-Assisted Education/Horse Dream (2015).
She is a dedicated spokeswoman for the Horse, striving to improve human-horse relations around the world. To this end, she teaches clinics and workshops internationally on honoring the horse through Dialogue and Consent.
Laura is a published author, public speaker, and writes a popular Russian and English blog.
